Dear Team Members,

Time has flown by and it is time for us to start our long trip in view of us retiring.  We leave early on Thursday morning the 20th.   The bad news is we have been hearing that weather up north has already started turning cold!  The good news is Chuck and Darlene Marshall have caught on to our jobs of Business Advisor and Secretary really well.  We keep telling them we are only a phone call away if they forget how to do something or need help.

Our daughter-in-law Janelle has her major back operation this Thursday the 20th.  Please be praying for her, the doctors, and nurses, and the days ahead – for healing and the long recuperation time.  We look forward to seeing them and being there for part of our trip.

Please also be praying for our next door neighbor Joe Price who has been in the hospital since Monday.  We mentioned earlier this year that he has a form of leukemia.  Recently his blood count was sky high and was having back problems, pain in a leg, and was running a fever which they now say is from the blood clots.  As it turns out he has an eight inch long blood clot in his leg and also small clots in his lungs.  They are having difficulty controlling his clotting time so please be praying for this to get under control and for the clots to dissolve.   Know he and his wife Jana would appreciate your prayers.  A number of our retirees here have recently been unwell.  It is hard to see these folk struggling.

Our son Ben and his wife Stephanie have started to home-school their oldest, Jayden who is in 7th grade.  Near the end of January when their new school year starts they plan on home schooling all four of their children.  Jayden will be in grade 8, Ashton grade 6, Llahna grade 4, and Kyan grade 1.  Know they will appreciate your prayers now and in the New Year.  They have been battling the coughing flu going around.

We look forward to seeing our daughter Esther, her husband Ricky and their daughter Desirae later this year.  The years sure fly by!!

Of course we look forward to seeing Ray’s married children Cherrine and Lowel, and Charles and Shawna,  who gave us our first great-grandchild Temperance! Having a two and a half year old grand-daughter (Desirae) and almost two year old great-granddaughter (Temperance) is awesome!  Ray was 11 ½ when Ben was born – thus the gap!

While we are away from home we can be reached by email. Mail until October 6th can be directed to us c/o Ray & Janelle Case, 2005 Timbercreek Dr., Manhattan, KS 66502.  After that, mail can reach us c/o Pastor & Mrs. Robert Daulton, 343 Ashburnham St, Fitchburg, Ma  01420.  We will arrive in Fitchburg just before Thanksgiving.

We appreciate your prayers as we travel, for our car to run smoothly, good health (especially in the cold northern weather), and as we retire the end of December.  In some ways we see ourselves as being retreaded as we trust the Lord to show us all He has in store for us in this new season of our lives as we walk with Him.  We are both REALLY tired so would appreciate your prayers for these last few days as we get things organized for traveling.

We continue to thank the Lord for each one of you and the part you have in our lives, and indirectly those He brings into our lives as we journey with Him.  We will keep you updated with our monthly news.

Until our next update when we are traveling, hopefully not in snow!!!!

With thankful hearts for each of you,

Charlie & Cherrie
