Dear Friends,
There are a few kids in our village who are extra-special to me. One of them is 4 year old Sinsia. This morning she was here with her mom Cecilia and little brother Benjamin. While Cecilia was busy sewing, I was trying to do a little translation work. Kind of hard with 2 of the cutest kids in the world running in and out of my office.
Anyways, Sinsia came in while I was working on 1 Cor. 11 and I told her that I was translating the part about Communion. I asked her if she knows what Communion is and that started the sweetest conversation. We talked about Jesus’ death on the cross and at the end I was wrapping it up saying that if a person places their trust in Jesus, then He’ll take away their sin. Unexpectedly, Sinsia pipes up and says loudly and clearly, “I have already said yes to Him!!”
I knew that her mommy has taught her very well, and she that she understands the simple message of salvation, but it moved me to tears to know that God’s Word has touched the heart of a little Mengen child in such a way that she is able to “say yes” to Jesus without hesitation!!! Oh, that there would be more Mengen people with that kind of straightforward acceptance of God’s perfect gift of salvation!!
Please continue to pray for us as we press on here in the hot and humid jungles of PNG. The days can be long and the work difficult, but I am so thankful to be a part of reaching the Mengen for Christ!! Today’s conversation with Sinsia was a sweet reminder of how pleased our Heavenly Father is when one lost child places their trust in Him!! How the angels rejoice!!
Thanks so much for being a part of our team as we reach the Mengen people with the Gospel. One of these days you’ll be able to meet my dear Mengen friends in heaven. What a tremendous day it will be as people from every tribe and tongue and nation will stand around the throne saying “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive honor and glory and power!!”
Thanks so much for your faithful prayers and financial support. I appreciate you so very, very much.
