Dear Co-Laborers,

Our last letter to you was on “Labor Day” and this one on “Veterans Day.” We are certainly thankful to be able to celebrate all those who have given their service to keep our country safe and are very appreciative to each one.

A big THANKS for your prayers these past couple of months as I have been traveling in Asia. My trip went well and I can be thankful that in all the flights I had including the mission flights into the tribe – all went according to schedule! We did have a maintenance problem with our plane in Japan on the way over and some typhoons to dodge both going and returning but all in all everything went very smoothly.

It was truly a blessing to be able to get back into the Wana tribe and visit many of our churches. There are always challenges that our churches are facing and sometimes it is easy to focus on those challenges. I am thankful for some good church planting consultants that help turn my focus to all that God is doing in spite of those challenges. Probably the highlight of my trip was being able to visit with an elderly Wana gentleman, “Pa’a Wee” who after over 30 years of hearing the gospel has finally turned from his old spirit religion to the true, living, and Eternal God and has put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ as his Savior. I have to admit that after many years of teaching this man the gospel I had pretty much given up on him but thankfully the Lord hadn’t and now he is a brother in the Lord. It was a special blessing to be able to sit down with him one afternoon and have him explain to me how he came to know Jesus. His physical eyes are failing him and he is nearly blind but praise the Lord his spiritual eyes have now been opened. Aren’t each of us thankful that the Lord didn’t give up on us too!

It was also a blessing to be able to touch base with our Wana missionary team to the east and see the progress they are making in their language and culture study. In just a few months they will be ready to begin preparing Scripture and lessons to teach these people. I was also able to spend some time our own Wana team Bible Lesson development at the end of my time there.

I was a month in Asia Pacific and then traveled up to Thailand to attend some seminars and also our Asia leadership forum which is held every three years. I found these seminars and this forum very helpful for the future of our ministry and also as we give consultant help to other teams.

Jeanne and I want to take this opportunity to thank you again for your prayers and partnership. We consider it a privilege to serve with you as we target the Asia Pacific region with the Gospel.
