This is my story

My name is Onesmas. I am married with one son. I was born in Meru County Eastern part of Kenya. I was brought up in a Christian family, I religiously attended the church. Until later in high school where I encountered Christ and surrendered my life into His Lordship. I was overwhelmed by His saving grace and power. I remember making a promise dedicating myself to serve Him the rest of my life.

After my High school I joined college where I took a degree in Education. I served as a teacher for a while actively participating in students ministry. But my thinking then was I needed to make a lot of money and support the expansion of Kingdom. I quit teaching and ventured into business which came down crumbling. The voice of God was consistent on my ears that. “I have covenant with you to serve me.” Though my argument was, “I need to make money and support those who are in ministry.”

Later I surrendered to his voice to do ministry. That time my definition of success in ministry is to have a big church building and big numbers of people attending. Until I met a a missionary from USA who took me through the perspective course. The scale in my eyes fell off, my heart connected to the heart of God regarding the Nations(tribes). It’s sad that after 2000 years from the time Jesus ascended to Heaven, almost half of population of the world is unreached with the Gospel. Realizing that Jesus is waiting for us to reach all tribes for His second coming was shocking.

This Good News of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. Mat 24:14

Jesus’ love for all Nations was so overwhelming, the revelation that Jesus was furious and kicked people out of the temple because they had stolen His inheritance the Gentiles. The Jews at the time had converted the place preserved for Gentiles into a market. But God plan for salvation was for all Nations. Though it started with Jewish.

He taught, saying to them,“Is it not written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations?’ But you have made it a den of robbers.” Mark 11:17

Then I knew I have to be where Jesus’ heart is–reaching the unreached tribes. I have been serving with Acts 2:42 Initiative which is a Discipline making movement. Where we are making disciples and planting House churches along East Africa targeting Africa at large, in obedience to Jesus commands.

Therefore go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all things that I commanded you. And look, I am with you every day, even to the end of the age.” Mat 28:19,20

Thank for reading this, kindly join me to fulfill this great commission. This is a calling not for the few but everybody that come into contact with the saving Grace of our Lord Jesus.
