Biblical. Relational. Transformational
From the Desk of the President
May is here! The end of the school year is here! How did it get here so quickly?!? We have just two more weeks of regular classes and then a finals week followed by our Celebration Weekend, including the Student Ministry Showcase and Commencement (see attached for an invite to these two events). Many students invite friends and family to these events—some that don’t know Christ. Would you pray with us that they are God-honoring events that clearly declare the good news of Jesus Christ? Please also pray that students end the semester well, especially for the nine students that have a chance to receive a certificate or degree?
For years we have been offering extension classes throughout Arizona and New Mexico but have longed for some consistency (i.e. being able to offer all six of our Christian Ministry Certificate classes in the same location). A church in Tuba City (on the Navajo reservation) has recently begun developing part of their facility as an ongoing IBC extension site and the first class began there just two weeks ago with seven students! Please pray that the Lord blesses and grows this much-needed extension program.
Sarah and I have both begun new Mending the Soul groups. (Mending the Soul is a resource-based discipleship process to help men and women heal from the incredibly painful effects of abuse). These groups are going from late April until late June— a very quick timeline for this process. In addition to four first time participants, Sarah and I are both training a student that has been through the process before and is preparing to lead their own groups some day! With the students’ permission we have shared their names and pictures—please pray that the Lord would do miracles of healing and freedom in these students’ lives! And please pray for strength and wisdom for Sarah and I, as it is very taxing for us both to be leading groups at the same time.
