Summer is here! We had a great end to the school year with Celebration weekend, where we do “four in 24” (four events in 24 hours): the Student Ministry Showcase Friday on Friday night and the Alumni Breakfast, Graduate Lunch, and Commencement Ceremony all on Saturday. Praise the Lord all the events were well-attended and God-honoring and the student presentations were fantastic! Since then we’ve had a week of inservice staff meetings, begun the annual staff evaluations, and I taught a one-week block course on Christian Family.
This week is the annual board meeting, held in a three day (Thursday through Friday) retreat format. The board legally owns the school, provides direction and policy oversight to the ministry, and delegates their authority over the staff through me (the president) as their authorized officer. The board usually meets just twice a year (January and June). At this meeting we have some very important matters regarding the future of the school to discuss–would you please be praying for this important time?
We are really looking forward to July, as the board has given me the whole month off for vacation, family time, and seeking the Lord. It is much needed—we are both weary from the school year and in need of meaningful time together as a family. As you probably know, I plan to remain as president until the Lord brings a Native man to replace me, but sometimes the pace feels unsustainable. The emotional toll of the last two years has been especially high. Would you be praying for our family time and rest during the month of July?
Thank you for standing with this ministry! We love serving Native Americans on your behalf, and wouldn’t be here without the prayers and financial support of God’s people!
Gratefully serving Jesus,
Jason and family
