It is hard to believe that we are already well into the New Year and I am sitting here thinking it is just six weeks till I depart for my next trip to Asia Pacific! Wow it seems like it is coming upon me quickly ! As Jeanne and I look back over the many wonderful years the Lord has allowed us to work with the Wana tribal people Philippians 4:1 comes to mind, “Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and my crown……” They truly are our crown and a joy to work with.
My co-workers and I are presently working doing the intitial comprehension check on the Exodus Scripture translation and hoping to have that finished before my departure date. I am also in the process of getting my papers together to apply for my visa entry permit and hope to have that all sent off to the embassy soon. Jeanne continues to heal from her surgery and will have her three month checkup on Thursday. We are hoping for a good report and that she will be able to begin driving once again.
We will appreciate your prayers for us as we work on getting all the details and our ducks in order before my departure. We would also appreciate your prayers for the still needed finances for this trip. My international tickets are covered but still needing to trust the Lord for an additional $2000 for costs of domestic tickets, mission aviation flight expenses, accommodations, and etc. Thanks for your prayers and thanks for being a part of the Wana people’s lives.

Baby sitting grandson
Nearly blind but faithfully attends the teaching. One day he will get new eyes.
I took the picture of the fellow above and then took the picture of this lady. I then showed the lady both the pictures. She really enjoyed seeing the image of this fellow on the camera but but when I showed her the image of herself she asked me who that lady was. I would imagine it has been some time since she has seen a mirror.
Enjoying some sugar cane. Young and old – all a part of our “joy and crown”. To God be the Glory! No worries he knows how to use that razor sharp machete well 🙂
