Dear Ministry Partners,
Greetings from the two of us. It is hard to believe that March is already here. I just returned home yesterday from a wonderful missions conference in Sun City, Arizona. And yes weather was just like the name suggests – warm and sunny. It was really great to reconnect with friends and ministry partners there, and to not only be able to share about what is happening in Asia Pacific but also hear from a number of other missionaries about their works both in the USA and also abroad. I am always amazed at how God uses each of us in different ways to see His job accomplished.
This weekend we have our missions conference in our home church here in Nebraska. Our main speaker will be from the Indian Bible College in Flagstaff, Arizona, another family from a local Bible camp, and also one of our families serving in Papua New Guinea. We are looking forward to their reports and our time with them.
The last two months have been exciting as we have seen some projects come to completion. In January we were able to complete the Bible lessons “Creation to Christ”. These lessons will be a tremendous tool in the hands of our Wana evangelists as they take the gospel to the many outreach areas. These have pictures which go along with each lesson which helps them visualize what is being taught. The past three weeks our team has been busy working on a new literacy program. This has involved making 5 new primers along with pictures and will be used in each of our villages for teaching them to read in their mother tongue. We are excited about the possibilities of adding many more people to that literate list, which will in turn enable them to read the Scriptures and lessons.
My departure date from the USA is coming up quickly as I will be lifting off from Lincoln, Nebraska on March 9 and heading for the Asia Pacific. I just emptied my suitcase last night from my Phoenix trip so will now begin the process of packing it once again! We sure will appreciate your prayers for the six weeks I am gone – for Jeanne as she holds the fort on this end and for me as I will be involved in a South East Asia church planting forum, Wana Bible conference, visiting Wana churches, and also making consultant visits to a number of other tribal missionary teams. Pray for health, strength, safety, and that I would be a blessing to others. We will appreciate your prayers for our parents too that the Lord would keep them healthy while I am gone and that things would remain well on this end. And a big note of praise is that my financial needs for this trip have been met!
Jeanne and I also want to take this opportunity to thank you so much for your prayers this past month. We are constantly reminded that expanding the reach of the gospel to the ends of the earth takes a team effort. We want you to know that you are truly appreciated and we are very thankful for your part on the team.
