“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
– Matthew 11:28-30
Hello friends,
This month has been a whirlwind, to say the least. I did not reach the goal of being 75% funded and will not be going to London until January. This was a hard decision, but it was the right one. God has a plan for this timeline and I have to have faith that His timeline is so much better than the one I want. Waiting six more months is going to be hard, but I know God is always with me and that is more than enough. I am sure you all have a lot of questions so, please reach out and I will be more than happy to talk more with you all about this new reality.
SBC Update
Since there is a new timeline, there had to be a conversation with Stockwell Church to make sure this would fit within their timeline. Praise God that they supported me and would still love to have me in January. I feel very blessed and thankful that I can continue my partnership with them.
Support
Due to the new timeline I obviously have a lot more wiggle room, but God willing, I pray that I reach 70% funded this month. What that would look like is 20 people deciding to support $50, or 10 people willing to support $100. I am looking to God for who to ask to help achieve this goal and to give me the boldness to step out in faith to ask. If you are reading this and want to help support me, there’s a link to my mission’s online donation portal in the right-hand column.
Another way I am working on support raising is to sell t-shirts that one of my friends from church helped design for me. The purpose of the shirts is to start the conversation and reach people I never would have reached before. I encourage everyone to share the shirts with people they know and prompt them to look more into the life of missions. London needs help and I want to share that need with anyone willing to listen. The link for the shirts is below!
Prayers
This month I ask that we turn our hearts and prayers onto the mission field. I ask you to pray over this process yes, but more importantly this month I urge you all to pray for the people and churches in England. I have reflected a lot this past week since I have moved the timeline, and in a way I have forgotten how much this isn’t even about me. This whole mission is about being the hands and feet of God to the people of London and to support the local church. I ask that together, we pray for Stockwell and all the churches in England who are trying so hard to show their neighbors the glory of God. I was asking God for ways to pray for our brothers and sisters and it seemed Paul’s Thanksgiving and Prayer in Philippians would be fitting,
I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God” (Phil. 1:3-11).
Thank you, each and every one of you, thank you. You are truly a gift from God Himself.
In Christ,
Grace Schmidt
