Thank you so much for your love, prayers and gifts! We are deeply grateful for your partnership with us in reaching the Hewa tribal people with the love of Jesus. Thank you!
The entire Hewa New Testament is now complete and consultant-approved, PTL!!! We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Jason, the Copleys, and many others who have patiently helped us make sure every single verse of the NT is both accurate and understandable to the Hewa speakers. We also owe huge thanks to you who have walked side by side with us each step of this 23-year journey. We are now able to move into the final phase of the NT translation process where we will comb through each verse again with Hewa speakers, looking for typos and terminology that needs improvement before submitting the manuscript to translation veterans who can take it toward the final type-setting and printing. We can’t wait for the day when we can present finished copies to the Hewa believers in a NT dedication service. THANK YOU FOR JOINING WITH US with love, prayers, and gifts all these years!!!
The Hewa Bible teacher named Faimpat, (pictured above left with red jacket) has started a brand new outreach to the village where we first lived! You may remember that after we learned the Hewa language and started teaching the Bible for the first time in 2005, our efforts were interrupted by murders and ongoing warfare which forced us to leave that original ministry location. In these past recent years, that same group of Hewa people have been sending men to our current ministry location asking for someone to come live with them to teach them the Bible, so a couple of months ago Faimpat moved there with his wife and daughter.
He has been teaching a Creation through Christ overview of the Bible to about 100 people, three days a week, and has also been teaching more than 40 eager people how to read so they can follow along in their new partially translated Bibles (pictured above). Faimpat told us that interest has remained high and that the villagers are tracking well and answering questions that show they are comprehending the main themes of the Bible. Please pray that as Faimpat continues teaching through the life of Jesus, and explains the significance of His death, burial, and resurrection, that many people will turn to the Lord for the forgiveness of sin and a new relationship with their Creator.
Thank you for your love and prayers,
Jonathan, Susan & Mikenna
