Greetings from Steve and Sandy Aholt,

We both thank you for your continued prayers and financial support, for us personally, and for our ministry during our retirement years.

Our retirement years look somewhat different than what we expected. We are caregivers for three elderly people. It is a joy to be in good health to be able to do this. Thank you, Lord!

We are also discipling two others — one who is a new believer and one who asked for help in their recovery from an addiction. We are still involved in volunteer work in a clothing and food pantry, through a local church, and leading a water aerobics class two mornings each week. These responsibilities keep us on our knees in prayer for God to be glorified through us. Thank you, Lord!

Recently, I attended a memorial service for a Christian friend of mine — who was taken by Covid-19. I asked a lost man that I know, who was attending the service, ”Where are you in the food chain of life?” His reply was, ”What do you mean?” I explained to him Jesus’ parable of the Sower — the seed is the Word:

Word sown by the wayside = someone who has heard, but Satan comes and takes the word away

Word sown on stony ground = someone who receives it gladly, endured for a time, but with no root, when temptations come, they turn away

Word sown among thorns = someone who hears the word, but the cares of this world, riches, and lust of things, choke the word and it becomes unfruitful

Word sown on good ground = someone who hears it, receives it, and brings forth fruit abundantly

His reply was, ”I am somewhere between the stones and the thorns!” I told him that we needed to talk about that sometime. Thank you, Lord!

”We are called to take His light; To a world where wrong seems right; What could be too great a cost; For sharing life with one who’s lost? People Need the Lord!”

Please rejoice with us in the great things that God is doing. Jesus said, ”And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” God is orchestrating His faultless wonderful plan before our eyes. Sometimes our world, or the news, looks like abstract art, but the pieces of God’s plan are falling into place. He has explained it to us clearly in the scriptures. Thank you, Lord!

The ”world” looks at what is happening, and they need someone to explain it to them. We sanctify the Lord God in our hearts: and are always ready to give an answer to any man that asks us a reason of the hope “that I have in Christ” (1 Peter 3:15).  God is giving each of us opportunities daily that are testing the genuineness of our faith in Him.

Listening for the trump,
Steve and Sandy Aholt
