Next Steps
Dear friends,
So much has happened in the last couple of months both on personal and ministry fronts, we feel we owe you another update! First, on the personal side: we closed on our new house on Feb 25! Then, two weeks later we were able to move Becky’s mom in with us. Neil’s mother will also be moving in a couple of weeks into an independent living facility here about 5 minutes from us. We are grateful for the Lord smoothing the way in all of this!
Also, we are excited to let you know that the Lord answered your prayers in regard to our cancelled airline tickets. Both credit card companies came through and refunded our money! Huge praise! We are also grateful for the provision of so many of you who contributed to that need and were happy to allow us to redirect those funds to our recent moving expenses. It’s been a huge help in these early days of setting up our new home and ministry. THANK YOU!!
Next Steps…Network!
One of the first ministry developments we have been able to take part in is the growing partnership between Ethnos360 and the Perspectives organization. Many of you may be familiar with the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement class. This course has been instrumental in God challenging many laborers to the nations (including both of us many years ago!). We are excited about the opportunity to work closely with Perspectives alumni in a new venture called the Perspectives Next Steps Network (PNSN). This will be a more formal way of connecting people who complete the course to sending organizations like Ethnos360. Our role will be to work with alumni one-on-one to help them find their best fit for future ministry, whether with us or another sending agency.
Next Up…
We’re excited over the next few weeks to have lots of other mobilization opportunities as well. One of our fellow Ethnos360 missionaries here in town is putting together a “Night in the Tribe” event on April 15 to explore tribal animism with interested students. We’re looking forward to a good turnout for that event, and we will be following it up the next week with an “Explore Ethnos360” evening at our house for those who might be interested in learning more about serving with us. Please pray that the Lord would raise up laborers from among the students and families in the College Station area to reach the nations!
In May, we will be going to a workshop at our headquarters in Sanford, FL for coaching training to help us with the PNSN coaching we will be doing with Perspectives students. Other mobilization events will follow in the coming months! God is definitely opening doors for us here both in College Station and around the state. As I was describing the community here in College Station to my supervisors this past week, the words “this is not normal” were used frequently (in a good way) to describe how God is moving here in this city. It is indeed a privilege to be working cooperatively with so many churches and organizations for the sake of the Gospel.
Thank you for the part you continue to play through your support for us. We are so grateful for you!
In Christ,
Neil and Becky Burleson
