I’m sorry, but I just can’t come up with anything profound to say this time around (not to imply that I usually do!), so here is a quick rundown of what is happening:

The students and those staff members who are Spiritual Formation mentors just took off a few hours ago for the annual Lake Powell Kickoff Kampout. Please pray for their safety, for good times of bonding and for God’s blessing on their interactions. IBC is hosting a seminar on dealing with grief this weekend. I don’t know if any alumni will be in attendance, but I posted an announcement on their Facebook page. Pray for comfort and increased wisdom in dealing with those who are grieving for those who are in attendance. There have been a lot of people on the reservations who have lost their loved ones from COVID.

I’m struggling to motivate the majority of my students in North American History and Christ and Culture to keep up with the work. Sigh. Please pray the students would value their education enough to do the work.

I continue to help lead music at my church about once each month. In addition I have played for another church several times recently and for a wedding. I don’t suffer from a lack of things to occupy my time. Please pray I would be wise in what I accept and what I turn down.

The biggest prayer request is for the accreditation site team visit this month October 20-22. Please pray for favor and that we would be able to effectively demonstrate who we are and what we do.

Thank you so much for your faithfulness in prayer and financial support!! I thank God for you!

Gratefully,

Martha Gushee
