Dear friends,
Greetings in the name of Christ! I apologize that I am several weeks overdue for an update. The last few months have been hectic and challenging, but I wanted to give you a quick praise and prayer update as we are now just a week away from regular classes (which begin on August 31st).
Praise the Lord that IBC is weathering the COVID crisis fairly well. We have almost 40 students planning to take classes in the fall: 21 full-time students (19 on-campus) and another 15-20 part-time students. We have a few students not returning due to COVID or sin struggles; please pray for the Lord’s work in these students’ lives. In case you’re interested,I’ve attached our letter to returning students outlining our response of courage and caution; it gives you a glimpse into the challenging complexity of offering residential housing and in-person classes this fall. Returning IBC Student Letter 2020
Praise the Lord that the IBC staff, board, and students who have gotten COVID-19 have all recovered. Pray for continued protection for the school during these challenging times.
Praise the Lord that we are almost done with the second accreditation self-study! It is due on Tuesday, August 25th—please pray that we will finish and submit our analysis of our strengths and weaknesses with excellence and integrity. And pray for our accreditation site team visit scheduled for October 20-22.
Praise the Lord that we received Pell Grant authorization! Please pray for us as we now work to meet all the federal requirements for reporting, consumer information, etc. and as we try to find the right new “price point” for students to receive all the help they can, pay their “fair share,” still graduate debt free.
Praise the Lord that the Koppen family is healthy and doing well! Please continue to pray that we find answers for Abby’s ongoing stomach issues.
Thank you for standing with us “on the bulwark” in prayer! We need it now more than ever! I’ll be in touch in September with an update on the start of the semester.
For the Indian Bible College and the Koppen family,
