Greetings from Steve and Sandy Aholt,

We thank the Lord for each of you daily. You have, and remain to be our helpers in the past and our hope as we face our future in retirement. We pray for you daily and thank the Lord for what He is doing in your lives. Fight the good fight – always remembering that we are on the winning side.

We scheduled a road trip to visit our daughter and her family in Columbus, Ohio. We enjoyed a wonderful visit with them until two days before our departure to come back to Missouri. Coralee, our granddaughter, is 15-years-old and Grandpa Aholt was able to give her two driving lessons.

We made our plans, but God directed our steps, from a family fun bicycle outing, to a hospital ER visit. Sandy had a mishap on the bike that she was riding, and she ended up with two fractures and a dislocation in her left ankle and three fractures in her foot. She knew right away that something was broken as her foot was turned 40 degrees inward. She was reclining in the back seat of the car on our trip back to Missouri – with her leg elevated in a splint.

According to the orthopedic surgeon that we saw, in Ohio, the Emergency Room doctor did an excellent job at resetting everything in the right position for Sandy – with no surgery required! Praise the Lord for His protection. Sandy is scheduled to go see an orthopedic doctor on the 9th. She will have x-rays taken to determine if everything is still healing in the right direction. Walking on crutches is not her favorite thing to do as they make her feel really unstable. I told her that by the time she gets used to walking on crutches that she will no longer need them. A folding rolling walker with a seat and brakes has really helped her to move around safely here at home. We purchased this like-new walker over a year ago at a yard sale.

These first two weeks have been a strain on both of our sleep patterns. We are both weary, but we know that God desires us to remain steadfast and righteous before Him. Pain comes before the healing as sorrow is turned into joy.

Thank you for your continued prayers. God is placing us on “His path” so that we can be a witness to those who need to hear about His love for them.

Mathew has told us that there are eleven people coming to the Bundi services now. Please keep praying for Mathew as he labors to preach the Word at Bundi. Pray also that God will provide a “Timothy” to come along side and be a helper to Mathew in the ministry. Thank you for your continued prayers about this.

Update: July 16, 2020

Thank you for your prays during these uncertain days – this pandemic and Sandy’s healing. We firmly believe that God is allowing Satan to attempt to turn people away from God. We see these types of things in the Bible as our examples. God desires for each of us to keep our eyes looking upward for His imminent return and for us to grow closer to Him. When His work is finished we will clearly see His plan and purposes in all of what is going on. Until that time, we need to always remember that we are on the winning side.

Today marks three weeks since Sandy’s bicycle injuries. She went to the doctor again today for more x-rays. All of the fractures are mending correctly. She is now in a “blue” hard cast for the next three weeks – “blue” to remind us of our first responders and the important role that each one has in our society.

She is now able to begin putting weight on her leg again. The doctor would like to see her walking with full weight, on that left leg, again by the end of three weeks. Sandy is feeling the healing taking place a little more each day.

God is answering your prayers about healing and Sandy is now able to go eight hours with acetaminophen and ibuprofen. We thank you for your prayers. God is also working in lives as we are able to witness of Christ’s love for them during doctor office visits.

Crime in Kansas City, Missouri is growing at the fastest rate in the country. COVID19 is at an all time high here also. God is keeping us healthy and safe – Jehovah Rapha and Jehovah Roi. Blessed be the name of the LORD!
