Happy summer! I pray this email finds you blessed and strengthened in the midst of challenging times. Here are some praises and prayer requests:
See the special summer newsletter about what has taken place at IBC regarding COVID-19 over the last four months. It should be in the mail next week, so you’re one of the first people to see it! I praise The Lord for how He is using the school during this crisis, and for increasing opportunity to be His “hands and feet” during this pandemic. Would you pray for wisdom and strength for me as I lead IBC through its COVID Relief & Recovery efforts? And pray for the fruitfulness of the Virtual Hope Team? They are mostly self-led, and it is exciting to see the kind of influence they are already developing, just three weeks in.
IBC has had its first “on-campus” COVID-19 case; one of our staff tested positive last week. Praise God he recovered at home and most of his symptoms have subsided. Eight other staff who had extensive interactions with him–including Sarah and I–have all been tested this week and are awaiting our results; please pray for quick and accurate results, and for wisdom in responding to them should any of them be “positive”.
As many of you know, our 13 year-old daughter Abby has had intestinal pain for 14 months now, with no diagnosis and no progress, despite many different doctor’s visits and tests. Praise the Lord we finally have a referral to a pediatric gastroenterologist at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Would you please pray for a diagnosis and direction?
Proverbs 18:10 says “The Name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe.” May you continue to be “safe” in Him, even as you live boldly in being the “hands and feet of Jesus” in these crazy times.
As always, thank you for partnering with us (in prayer, giving, and volunteering) as the Lord leads,
Dr. Jason Koppen
