Greetings from Steve and Sandy Aholt,

Victory in Jesus! We continue to see people have the victory over sin through their faith in the finished work of Jesus. His shed blood has allowed mankind to have access to forgiveness from our sin. His resurrection is proof that He has won the victory over sin and death. Thank you for being faithful with your prayers and financial giving that sustains us. God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we could ever ask or think. The Lord be magnified!

Thank you God for what you have been doing! He promised to provide for all of our needs, and He is doing just that. We pray daily for Him to fill you with His Spirit, to bless your lives, and the work that you are doing for Him. The Lord be magnified!

The Lord has answered prayer and has protected the people of Papua New Guinea from COVID19. There have only been 8 positive cases within the country, to date. We praise the Lord for his answer to prayer and for His watch-care over our national friends and coworkers within Papua New Guinea. The Lord be magnified!

Bundi Baptist Church voted to remove Kasi from their church membership list. Kasi’s threats of violence has caused many of the church members to stop coming to church. Mathew, the newly appointed pastor at Bundi Baptist Church, has asked for prayer because the church attendance is down to just a few. I encouraged him to faithfully preach the Word, and then others who have left will return. Four different girls have come forward and said that Kasi sexually assaulted them. Kasi has now made another girl pregnant – his youngest daughter. The family now wants to take him to court. Please pray for Mathew to be Spirit filled as he preaches and visits. Pray also that the church members will fill the need of a parsonage. A parsonage was in our plans just before we left Papua New Guinea. Mathew walks three hours to and from church. God is able. The Lord be magnified!

We were able to finally have a couple accept our invitation to attend church services with us, just prior to this pandemic. On the second Sunday, after the invitation was given, Leon said, “I am really beginning to connect with this!” He went on to explain that when he prayed and asked Jesus to be his Savior, “it was like a heavy chain that has been weighing me down – has been taken away! I now feel like my life is worth something!” Just after this, the announcement was made here in Missouri that we would be going into lockdown due to the COVID19. Thus, the challenge of discipleship over the telephone began between Leon and Steve.

Over the next five weeks Leon and Steve were on the phone talking and praying together, almost daily. God was making all things new in Leon’s life. Leon turned 65 on Mother’s Day, and the Lord suddenly took him home that following Tuesday. We were able to assist his wife Angie, with funeral arrangements. Steve was asked to perform a graveside service on the 19th. A graveside service allowed more people to attend during the quarantine time. The Gospel was presented and the Lord is working through His Spirit to convince men of their sin. Please pray for God to give the increase. The Lord be magnified!

This past Sunday, we talked to Leon’s wife, Angie, via the telephone. She had heard the Gospel, and she knew all of the facts, but she had never personally accepted what Jesus had done for her – so that she too could have her sins forgiven. She prayed to God and admitted that she was a sinner, and that there was no good work that she could do to have her sins taken away. She thanked God for sending Jesus as the perfect sacrifice for sin and that Jesus willingly shed His blood on the cross and died to pay the penalty of her sins. The wages of sin is death. The gift of God is eternal life. This is called God’s simple plan of salvation. We have started the discipleship process over the telephone with Angie. Sandy is doing an excellent job. Angie has already commented that, “The Bible’s teaching is so much different that other beliefs that we had tried!” Some plant. Some water. But it is God who gives the increase. The Lord be magnified!

Voluntary work that we are doing:

  • Steve was able to fill-in teaching Sandy’s dad’s Sunday school class while he was out ill for seven weeks. Sandy was providing meals and caring for him during this time. She was not working in the school food service due to this pandemic.
  • Steve volunteered to deliver Meals-On-Wheels during this pandemic time that produced a shortage of drivers.
  • We continue to volunteer in a church ministry that distributes food and clothing to needy families in our area.
  • We are gathering certain sizes of clothing and promoting hope and love for female survivors of human trafficking through Restoration House of Greater Kansas City.

Please pray for our home church Salem Baptist Church. They desire wisdom in planning long-term strategy – sustained and faithful.

We rejoice that God has given us the health and strength to labor in love to point others to the Lord. Your faithfulness is sustaining us during these days of working and waiting – for our Lord’s return.

Listening for the trump,

Steve and Sandy Aholt
