We are on our way home! Please be praying for our travels.
Have you seen the news about the COVID-19 outbreak on the Navajo reservation? The infection rate is only surpassed by New York and New Jersey. Our hearts have been greatly burdened by the Navajo peoples’ suffering, and the Lord has made it clear He is leading IBC to assist in the relief efforts. The details are still coming together for this, but we are hoping to assist with packing relief boxes, to provide soap/sanitizer/safety equipment (and an encouraging note, when appropriate), and to develop some community outreach training to reservation pastors. We will, of course, be carefully protecting staff and students through current safety protocols. Would you pray that doors will be opened to us to serve in the most meaningful way possible? The funds raised for the cancelled Ministry Immersion Trip will be used to help purchase these materials, and a generous donor has pledged to match this! If you would like to financially join in these relief efforts, you can go to https://www.indianbible.org/invest/ and click on the “Donate” button under the COVID-19 heading (on the right side of the page if on a computer, or scroll down to the bottom if on a phone).
In the midst of the COVID-crisis, several of our staff and students have had family members pass away or are struggling with unrelated personal challenges. Would you continue to pray for encouragement and protection for staff and students? Many of the IBC family are struggling greatly during this difficult time.
Finally, please pray for me (Jason) as I get back “on the ground”—that I would lead with wisdom after being away for over four months. Due to the COVID-19 crisis I have been providing some leadership from Hawaii, but I need to re-engage quickly to help us prepare for the end of the school year, to help discern our approach for summer work teams, and to plan for the fall semester under this “new normal.”
The Koppen family enthusiastically thanks you for your prayers and support! We are excited to “get back to work”!
