Dear friends,
I write this to you on the eve of our departure for Hawaii. Our bags are packed (all 17 of them!) and our tasks of handing things off have been completed. We’ve spent a lot of time visiting family here in Oregon, including time with 12 of the 13 cousins. We visited our two “sending churches” in Yamhill & Newberg, Oregon the last two Sundays to update them on the school and on our sabbatical.
The six of us are incredibly excited for the seven weeks ahead, days to walk, read, pray, play, laugh, cry, journal, teach, be mentored, rest, and bond–all of this “unplugged” from the digital world, with our focus entirely on those who are there physically present. Then, on or around March 1st we will “reconnect” with the greater world as we dive into some important ministry projects that we don’t have time for in our regular lives.
This is the “trip of a lifetime” for our kids, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you to each of you that have guided and provided for us towards this time. We anticipate great things from this time.
Please pray for the six of us and for Clint Ross (Dean of Students) who is leading the school in Flagstaff in our absence.
We’ll be in touch again in March!
Gratefully serving Jesus… by resting in Jesus,
Dr. Jason Koppen
