FOR unto us a Child is born. UNTO us a Son is given;

and the government shall be upon His shoulder and His name will be called

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, PRINCE OF PEACE.

Isaiah 9:6

Thank you so very much for your faithful prayers for me throughout this past year. What a rollercoaster it has been!! For the first few months, I was able to return to Papua New Guinea. It was a huge joy to see my teammates and be with the Mengen church again. By the end of March, the Mengen New Testament was brought to completion at long last! To God be the glory!!

I am amazed and grateful to the Lord for His mercy and grace throughout my 19+ years of working in Papua New Guinea and am so thankful that the Mengen believers will soon be able to hold God’s Word in their own hands. Please pray with me that the Mengen church will hunger after the Scriptures and that they will grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This New Year will bring all kinds of new adventures for me as I continue to find my footing in Canada. In just a few weeks, I’ll be starting a job tutoring students who are learning English as their second language. I’m really looking forward to working with people from all over the world and being involved in literacy again. It looks like the job will take me right up until June which is definitely the Lord’s perfect timing, as I will be leaving for Papua New Guinea at that time. I am really looking forward to going “home” for the Bible dedication and traveling with my former co-workers Keri and the Wrights for a couple of weeks!! This will be a wonderful time of reminiscing about the Lord’s faithfulness to the Mengen church and to celebrate the completion of their New Testament.

It will be my first trip back since I formally resigned from the work in Papua New Guinea. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to live overseas because of my medical treatment for Multiple Sclerosis and will remain in Canada for the time being. I have not resigned from Ethnos Canada yet and am still praying about what the Lord has for me in the future. The mission will continue to receive finances for me for the next several months. I won’t be making any firm decisions until after I return to Papua New Guinea in June. Please contact me if you have questions or would like to visit with me about this. I have certainly appreciated your many faithful prayers and support since I started Bible School in 1994! Crazy how the years fly by!

May you have a very blessed Christmas as you celebrate our Saviour’s birth!

Joy to the world, the Lord has come,

Becky Preheim
