Greetings from Steve and Sandy Aholt,
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and support of our ministry. Life has its daily issues that require us to make wise decisions. We find comfort in knowing that God has heard our prayer for wisdom as we proceed through the planning and decision making process of retirement. ABWE has sent a retirement letter to all of our supporting churches about reducing our support requirement. Many of you have supported us with your prayers and financial giving for over 25 years. Thank you for prayerfully considering our retirement support needs.
God has answered your prayers for Sandy to be a radiant guiding light in her new job. Those 5-½ hours each school day, serving lunch and after school meals (ASMs) at our local alternative school, is an investment that is bringing glory to the Lord. Please continue to pray that her words would be like apples of gold in pictures of silver – scented choice golden words that are silver plaited.
Recently, one of our missionaries in Papua New Guinea (PNG) was driving slowly down a rain soaked clay mountain road when suddenly the vehicle began to slide. It ended up on its side with no serious injuries to the passengers. Your prayers for our coworkers in PNG are vital in the ongoing battle against spiritual darkness in spreading the “Good News” of Jesus Christ.
Soma is rejoicing in God’s provision of a life jacket and a bright flashlight. Someone asked, “Why doesn’t Soma just learn how to swim?” Well, in answer to that: there is no local swimming pool and the waters are full of hungry crocodiles and deadly snakes. Soma just sent this urgent prayer request: The landowner of the place where her family is living in Goroka has asked them to move. One of the landowner’s wives wants to live in that house. This will require them to purchase a piece of land that will cost K20,000 (kina) or US$5,880. They presently have US$1,176. Please pray for God to supply the additional US$4,700 to purchase the land.
The Bible Study that we are starting has great potential. Please continue to pray for the implementation of this plan. Nancy Hartwig, a former coworker in PNG, was asked by her pastor if she would consider hosting a Bible study. Nancy was glad to host this at her home, but her vision prohibited her from teaching the class. A different lady has stepped in to teach. Each one of us is a part of the Body of Christ, and by doing our part, whatever that may be, will bring glory to God.
Steve has been going two to three days each week taking Sandy’s dad to doctor appointments. Pete requires a TAVR procedure (Transcatheter aortic valve replacement) to replace his aortic heart valve. Tomorrow he will have a coronary angiogram. Valve replacement will be soon. Thank you for your prayers for successful procedures and complete healing.
We just learned that a close relative has breast cancer. Please pray for successful treatments and complete healing. Thank you for your prayers about this.
Listening for the trump,
Steve and Sandy Aholt
