Greetings all,
It hardly seems possible that in less than three weeks I will be making my way back over to Asia Pacific. We want to thank each of you who have been praying for this trip and the finances that are needed. Praise the Lord the funds we were praying for have come in so it looks like it is “all systems go!” My plans will be to lift off from Kearney, Nebraska on September 16, “flying the friendly skies of United” – I know but it beats walking or swimming – ha! Again thanks so much for your prayers.
One of our big events this month has been the thrust to get two of our Wana airstrips open again for use of the Kodiak. The one airstrip down on the river handled the little Super Cub and the Cessna 185 just fine, but we found that in places the soil was too soft for using the heavier Kodiak. The process of fixing it has been to dig out the soft soil, filling with rocks and gravel, and then put top soil back on and compact using a portable soil compactor. Our 2 pilots were able to fly in with helicopter on this past Thursday to inspect the airstips. There is still a little more work to do on each of them but they are pretty confident that they will both be ready to use for our upcoming Bible conference beginning on September 25th. Our chief pilot from the USA will go over on September 16 to give the final inspection. Let’s all be praying that we get the ‘green light’ as it will be a huge help with the travel challenges we have with the upcoming activities in Wana next month and in October.
Thanks so much for being a part of our team as we work together with you to see this region reached with the gospel of Jesus.
Blessings,
Ed n Jeanne
