Dear Team Members,

G’Day from Sunny Florida! It is HOT but SUNNY!!!

LOTS OF HOORAYS!!!!

Have you ever FAILED A TEST? I am sure you felt Really Bad about it!!! I FAILED an important test on Tuesday July 23rd! I was at the Orlando Regional Medical Center where they were working on issues with AFIB – Atrial Fibrillation. They did a Tilt Test and I FAILED IT!!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!!!! – that is an Australian expression 🙂 At first, I felt sad until I realized it was GOOD NEWS!!! Now they know why I have been feeling REALLY YUCKY – My BLOOD PRESSURE is a BIG PART of the problem. My Blood Pressure keeps wanting to drop 🙁 In fact at times it did not even want to register. Lately, at home, I would check my Blood Pressure and it would come up with an E for error, like I think it did during the Tilt Test! I thought our Blood Pressure machine was not working. In reality my Blood Pressure was dropping out 🙁 No wonder I was feeling lousy and tired. So, Dr Duran has started me on a new medication to increase my Blood Pressure, and a new one for the Atrial Fibrillation rhythm. My heart beats are doing much better now, though often in the 40’s, which is probably why I am tired!! I have to laugh as Charlie said, “Sometimes it is better to fail a test, so you can get the needed help!!!” How THANKFUL we are for YOUR PRAYERS and CONTINUED PRAYERS!!!

HIP HIP HOORAY!!!! We recently heard that the work at the Juvenile Detention Center has had its ups and downs, but recently our retirees involved in that ministry have been encouraged with kids coming out to talk with them, as well as the staff working with them. Some have trusted in Christ as their Savior 🙂 Please continue to PRAY!!!!!

HIP HIP HOORAY!!!! We have also heard that there has been renewed interest in with inmates at a jail doing the Bible Study papers that some of our retirees are involved in correcting the papers.

HIP HIP HOORAY!!!!! Our friend Mark Cain, who has cancer has been selected to be part of the T CELL cancer treatment program. We know that Mark would appreciate your continued PRAYERS as well as our friend Teresa, and our next-door neighbor Tom, who both have cancer. Do PRAY for their spouses also!!

Most of you would be aware that those who care for those who are unwell need PRAYER!!!! I know for Charlie caring for me, he gets REALLY tired. I would appreciate your PRAYERS for him. For me, it is hard to slow down and pace myself. With the new medications I am on for the Atrial Fibrillation and low blood pressure, I can see that they both helping. I am learning to listen to my body and slow down some. WE BOTH APPRECIATE YOUR PRAYERS!!!!

How we thank the Lord for you being part of our lives!!!! We keep trusting Him to ENCOURAGE EACH OF YOU ALSO!!!!

ALL BECAUSE OF JESUS,

Charlie & Cherrie

CHERRIE’S MUSINGS: Back in 1964 both our lives totally changed with Jesus Christ becoming the center of our lives – OUR SAVIOR!!! Since that time, from time to time, I have written down my own thoughts, and Biblical teachings, and others that I have heard that have impacted my heart and life. Recently I have been looking through ever so many booklets and loose papers I had jotted down over the years. I have decided to compile these into one long writing, which could end up being hundreds of pages, but for this time I will keep it to two pages.

SOOOO HERE GOES:

-”You can write your plans in pencil, but give God the eraser.”

-Don’t put a ? mark where God puts a . (period)

-November 19th 2008 Driving through the hills of Virginia there was a large bird sitting tall and bold at the top of a large leafless tree. God is faithful and we can stand tall, knowing He is in control even when our life seems barren. He takes care of His children 🙂

-Lamentations 3:22-23 – “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”

-The phrase “Do Not be Afraid” is written in the Bible 365 times!!!!!!!!!!!

-The great Evangelist D. L. Moody said the following about Moses: “The life of Moses consisted of 120 years divided into three parts of forty years each. In the first forty years Moses was learning to be a somebody. In the next forty years he was learning to be a nobody. In the final forty years he was proving what God could do with a person who has learned the first two lessons.”

-“Grief never ends… but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith… It is the price of love.”

– Philippines 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ, Who strengtheneth me.”

– Psalm 61:2 & 3 “When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For Thou hast been a shelter for me,”

– We are reminded of our wounded Savior and because He was wounded, He understands us and is there for us each step of our journey :o)

– God put me here to accomplish certain things – right now I am so far behind I will never die!!!

– “A new year is like a blank book. The pen is in your hands. It is your chance to write a beautiful story for yourself.” (Author unknown)

-The fun kids have!!! For years, Esther and Ricky did not have a washing machine. When the washing machine spun and shook like mad, their children Desi and Majh loved to hold on to the machine laughing like mad!!! :o)

-Proverbs 3:24 “When you lie down, you will not be afraid. When you rest, your sleep will be peaceful.”

-“I have pitched my Tent in the land of hope.”

-“In God’s garden of Grace, even broken trees bear fruit.”

-At the end of the Memorial Day Service at the Military Memorial Cemetery in Canton Georgia, the gentleman who closed the program was thankful for all the people who made the sacrifice for our freedom and then thanked God for the Ultimate Sacrifice of His Son Jesus for us! WOW that was awesome!!! It is an AWESOME CEMETERY!! We are so thankful that Charlie’s Mom (Mum for our Australian/NZ friends) could be interned in that Cemetery.

– “God’s Unchanging Word” by Martin Luther:

“For feelings come and feelings go, And feelings are deceiving; My warrant is the Word of God, naught else is worth believing.

Though all my heart should feel condemned For want of some sweet token, There is One greater than my heart Whose Word cannot be broken.

I’ll trust in God’s unchanging Word Till soul and body sever: For, though all things shall pass away, His Word shall stand forever.”

-How thankful we are that we have the Great Physician on our side. It is He that lives in us and knows the number of hairs on our head and walks each step of the way with us. He has promised to Never leave us Nor Forsake us. He is the Great I AM!!!
