Dear Team Members,

Greetings in our Savior’s Precious Name!!!!

June has been a MIXED BAG for us!!! The good news is that we thank you for your PRAYERS for the tests done to make sure my cancer had not spread! All the scans and blood work showed no sign of cancer for which we are EVER SO THANKFUL!!!

June 14th, we celebrated our 56th ANNIVERDSARY!!! How thankful we are to the Lord for sooo many years together, and we look forward to MANY MORE!!!! We still remember that Friday night wedding in a chapel next to a park in Fitchburg Massachusetts. Just as the minister was pronouncing us man and wife, there was a band in the park that struck up a John Phillip Sousa march!

My journey with the Atrial Fibrillation problem, with my BP and pulse being up and down, makes me really tired :o( I ended up in the ER on Sunday the 9th, but my heart went back into sinus (regular) rhythm so was sent home. I was able to see my Cardiologist’s PA on June 25th. She explained ever so much!!! It was decided that I will go to a Heart Rhythm Specialist in Orlando, who will look at the whole situation and he will decide what meds I need to be on, and or what procedures would help benefit the ongoing problems. Thank you so much for your PRAYERS and ONGOING PRAYERS and for God to give the doctor wisdom as to what direction we should go. I have an appointment on August 29th!!! We realize that means waiting, but we have been told that this doctor, located in Orlando, is a really good Cardiologist and saw online his expertise is Cardiac Electrophysiology. If I can’t get in earlier as a friend said – “That date to see that doctor seems about right. It usually takes about 3 months to see him, but he is worth waiting for.” So, BOTH of us appreciate your CONTINUED PRAYERS, and that I would remember to rest a bit more, slow down and not overdo things, which is not easy for me to accomplish!!!!

Then, on Tuesday evening, the 25th, we had a horrendous thunder and lightning STORM that damaged our home phone, internet system, and fried our TV!!!!! Internet is up and running, but the phone system still has hiccups!!!!!!

Please continue to PRAY for our friends Mark and Joyce Cain. This is the newest update on them sent out by Joyce:

Ok, so this is the latest on Mark’s treatments. On Tuesday, July 2nd, he will start the 2nd regiment of chemo lasting at least through end of July and if it works could go through mid Nov. He will have that important meeting with the University of PA, July 12th, to talk about getting Car T Cell treatment AFTER this second regiment of Chemo. This is VERY important to us as Car T Cell has actually cured cancer for two years or more! Cells that will be taken out of Mark’s blood will be programmed and put in ONCE to stay in his body and kill off the cancer cells!!!! Our PRAYER request is that he will be qualified by this organization in Philadelphia to go through this Car T cell treatment. On another note, since we can’t go to Colombia in August, our three Indian translators will be getting together for two to four weeks out in the tribe where there is internet at a little town to do the work they were going to do with Mark!!! This is SUCH a blessing to us so that when we go this next year, Lord willing, maybe in two weeks we can tie all loose ends and have the Bible ready for printing. Thanks for PRAYING for us in this journey of faith and for the printing of the Guahibo Bible!!!

Our neighbor, Tom Reichel, is also going through chemotherapy. Our friend Teresa Holmgren, who has stage four cancer, continues with cancer treatment. We know both these folks would appreciate your PRAYERS!!!

We STILL have some URGENT FULL TIME STAFF NEEDS here at our RETIREMENT CENTER: – Please continue to PRAY with us for a Mechanic; General Maintenance man; Cook couple; Nurse (RN); Personal Care lady; Grounds Manager; Grounds Maintenance man; Housekeeping ladies; Electrician; IT Technician; and NTM Homes Director.

Our hearts are full of thankfulness for each of you!!

BECAUSE HE LIVES WE CAN FACE TOMORROW,

Charlie & Cherrie

In the Journey I am going through the two following items encouraged my heart:

“Wisdom is not the ability to find all the puzzle pieces and put them back together so that your life makes sense, but real wisdom is trusting God even, and especially, when the pieces don’t fit.” – Joni Eareckson Tada

A dear friend sent this to me. She was given this song by Joyce Cain – the Cains, who we have asked you to PRAY FOR:

Help Is on the Way
A woman in the Bible days, her last meal almost gone
But God sent Elijah, to make His Word known
He said, “Woman don’t you worry, for God sent me today
And before you even ask me, help is on the way.”

Chorus
Just hold on a little longer, help is on the way
A brighter day is coming, for those who believe and pray
Help won’t help tomorrow, if you give up today
Just hold on a little longer, help is on the way

Troubles of this life come by, and burdens get you down
You think no one is listening, you think no one’s around
Just remember what his word says, “Trust Him and Obey”
Keep your eyes towards the heavens, cause help is on the way

Chorus
Just hold on a little longer, help is on the way
A brighter day is coming, for those who believe and pray
Help won’t help tomorrow, if you give up today
Just hold on a little longer, help is on the way

A boy had many brothers, his father loved him best
His coat of many colors was not like all the rest
They sold him into slavery, they thought he’d gone to stay
But he kept his eye on heaven ‘cuz help was on the way

Chorus
Just hold on a little longer, help is on the way
A brighter day is coming, for those who believe and pray
Help won’t help tomorrow, if you give up today
Just hold on a little longer, help is on the way
