Dear Team Members,
WOW, Summer has hit us like a brick! It has already been up to 99 degrees with a heat index of over 100 degrees Fahrenheit! SOOOO PLEASED FOR AIR-CONDITIONING!!!!!
Lots going on in our household recently. Where I had surgery for cancer has not felt the best, so I saw my cancer surgeon. She ordered a total body bone scan. The following is an update on that bone scan done on May 25th.
I want to give you an update on Cherrie’s bone scan. She talked to her surgeon about the scan results and she was concerned with a place on her right chest. Her surgeon has said that it could be one of a number of things: a result of the radiation, a fracture, bruising or the cancer has metastasized to the bone. Cherrie has an appointment with her cancer Oncologist doctor on June 6th when she will have blood work done and talk about other tests and possible treatments. It is interesting – Cherrie had no problem getting an earlier checkup appointment than she already had for July with the Oncologist, and immediately we got a phone call from the Radiologist’s office and they set up an appointment for down in Altamonte Springs to have more chest comparison x-rays to already have done when she sees the Oncologist! It was encouraging to know she is being cared for so quickly! The tests ordered have been done and on Thursday we may have some answers when we see Cherrie’s Oncologist. Normal blood tests will be done on Thursday and one for Tumor markers, but that one won’t be back until next week. We tend to think it a residual affect from the radiation treatments she had. God is going before her and our trust is in Him!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you all for your continued PRAYERS!!!” Thanks so much, Charlie
With sooooo much going on in our lives, we have decided to wait until next April to try and go to Australia to see our son Ben and his family. By then it will be well over six years since we have seen them!! One of the drugs I am on for the Atrial Fibrillation, has been approved to receive free from the drug company for the rest of the year, but at the end of this year there will be more paperwork to fill out to possibly get it free for another year. So, being out of the country would make it difficult to process that paperwork. We also heard that our grand-daughter, Llahna, has an opportunity to go visit her Aunt and Uncle and cousins, who work in Papua New Guinea during her summer break, which is winter in the USA. What an experience that would be for her. So not going during their summer break works out best for them and us. We continue to trust the Lord to work out all the details for the trip there. Thank you for your PRAYERS!
We STILL have some URGENT FULL TIME STAFF NEEDS here at our RETIREMENT CENTER: – Please continue to PRAY with us for a Mechanic; Gen Maintenance man; Cook couple; Nurse (RN); Personal Care lady; Grounds Manager; Grounds Maintenance man; Housekeeping ladies; Electrician; IT Technician; and NTM Homes Director.
We thank the Lord for each of you and the part you have in our lives.
ALL BECAUSE OF CALVARY,
Charlie & Cherrie
* * Monday Afternoon we saw the report from the x-rays done last Thursday and they were encouraging. We trust the blood work to be done will be encouraging also!!!
CHERRIE’S MUSING: WITH ALL THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON WITH MY HEALTH LATELY, I HAVE BEEN REMINDED OF THE FOLLOWING:
Bear not a single care thy self, One is too much for thee. The work is Mine and Mine alone. Thy work – to trust in Me. A SPECIAL FRIEND, Joy Scott, shared that with me years ago :o)
Joni Eareckson Tada has made an impact on my life. As a youngster, she became a quadriplegic as a result of a diving accident in shallow water, plus in 2010 she battled stage 3 cancer. God is greatly using her in the lives of families affected by disabilities. She made a remark that has encouraged my heart: “Once I get to heaven, I will have all of eternity to sing praise to the God who permits what He hates in order to accomplish what He loves.”
A friend of mine, who has been going through a horrible time, shared this in a recent letter: Psalm 116:1-2 “I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.”
Leave It There
Song by Charles A. Tindley
Lyrics
If the world from you withholds of its silver and its gold,
And you have to get along with meager fare,
Just remember, in His Word, how He feeds the little bird;
Take your burden to the Lord, leave it there.
Chorus:
Leave it there, leave it there,
Just take your burden to the Lord oh and leave it there.
If you trust Him through your doubt, He will surely bring you out.
Take your burden to the Lord, leave it there.
Now if your body suffers pain and your health you can’t regain,
And your soul is slowly sinking in despair,
Jesus knows the pain you feel, He can save and He can heal;
Take your burden to the Lord, leave it there.
Take your burden to the Lord, leave it there.
Chorus:
Leave it there, leave it there,
Just take your burden to the Lord oh and leave it there.
If you trust Him through your doubt, He will surely bring you out.
Take your burden to the Lord, leave it there.
