Dear family and friends,

Greetings to you in the Name of Jesus!

No man is greater than his prayer life. The pastor who is not praying is playing; the people who are not praying are straying. We have many organizers, but few agonizers; many players and payers, few pray-ers; many singers, few clingers; lots of pastors, few wrestlers; many fears, few tears; much fashion, little passion; many interferers, few intercessors; many writers, but few fighters. Failing here, we fail everywhere.

A man may study because his brain is hungry for knowledge, even Bible knowledge. But he prays because his soul is hungry for God.

(Both quotes are from Leonard Ravenhill.)

Lately I have been challenged to spend more time in prayer. Why is it that when we get busy, prayer seems to be the first thing to drop in priority? With our shortage of staff here at NTM Homes, Brad and I are keeping quite busy in order to see the needs of our elderly missionaries met. This should automatically lead us to spend more time in prayer before the throne of grace. Please pray that our souls will be “hungry for God.” This will make all the difference in what we accomplish as we walk through our days.

Brad took this photo last month. Each person in the photo is 90 years old or older. These folks are retired missionaries who have given many years of their lives in service to the Lord. They all live here on the NTM Homes property. Fourteen of the folks pictured live in our Latham Center. The rest are still living independently in one of our duplex apartments. I thought you might like to see who it is that we are serving. You know, “a picture is worth a thousand words.”

These folks are prayer warriors and a real example to me personally. Our missionaries from around the world send their prayer / newsletters to NTM Homes and the receptionist prints them off. One of our Latham Center residents uses a highlighter and marks all of the prayer requests in each of the letters. The letters are then made available in the Prayer Room. Each request is prayed for by at least 2 retirees. Once a month prayer sheets are made available for our Day Of Prayer. Our retirees are an example of real Prayer Warriors.

Brad and I will end with a few prayer requests of our own.

  • Pray that our souls will be hungry for God.
  • We need God’s wisdom as we set priorities for each day.
  • We need health and strength to complete the work God has for us.
  • We need to be sensitive and obedient to the Holy Spirit’s promptings in our lives.
  • We need times of refreshment.

With thankful hearts,

Brad & Wanda Hull
