Dear Friends,

There is so much to be grateful for these days! Mostly, thank you so much for your faithful prayers. Many have written over the last couple of days and said that they were praying faithfully for the translation check that my Mengen helpers were doing along with our mission translation consultants.

“He who promised is faithful…” Hebrews 10:23

Today around 4 pm, we finished checking the book of Hebrews.

This was the final book in the Mengen New Testament which needed to be checked.

We all sighed a huge sigh of relief and thanked the Lord truly for His mercy and His faithfulness.

The 3 Mengen men and I recognize that we could not have done it apart from the Lord and we felt your prayers holding us up this entire time!

A couple of days ago, we were working our way through Revelation. It was going a lot slower than I had anticipated, and I was discouraged thinking about how challenging the book of Hebrews is and how exhausted all of us were. We had already worked our way through the books of John and Matthew, and we were mentally weary from all the intense thinking! 😊 However…the Lord helped us all and gave us extra energy! We kind of zipped through the book of Hebrews and it reminded me how much I enjoy the epistles!

Now the plan is for the guys and I to head back to Hoskins the day after tomorrow. The 3 helpers will head home and another guy will come out. I still have another week of work ahead of my as I go through all the post-check notes and do some more polishing and tweaking of the Mengen New Testament. Lord willing sometime this summer we’ll be ready to print, but there is still a bit of work to do with formatting etc.

Anyways, I just wanted to send out this quick update as I know many of you are anxious to hear if we survived….I mean if we finished!! 😊

As for me, I’m feeling a bit numb but extremely happy. I didn’t feel too emotional till I called the guys in our village tonight. What a joy to tell them that their New Testament has been checked and we’re now one step nearer to it being printed. Honestly, I could barely choke the words out and the 3 guys on the other end were talking really excitedly. I want to call again tomorrow and talk with Kariang, my main translation helper and good friend all these years!!

I guess I’d better close off for now! My eyes are blurry but my heart is happy.

Thanks again for your part in this amazing ministry.

Amazed by His grace,

Becky
