Greetings from Steve and Sandy Aholt,

We say with heartfelt gratitude “thank you” to each one of you who have sacrificially prayed and given financially over these years to assist us in our labor for Christ. He has faithfully given to you and you have been faithful in giving back to His greatest desire – “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).”

Taim bilong biksan i kam klostu nau. Yes, the Summer-time is close at hand for us here in the Midwest – June 21st. As the temperatures begin to soar on your thermometer, let us each make our spiritual thermometer soar also. How can this be accomplished? Simply by reading and obeying God’s Word, the Bible, daily. As we do this, our minds begin to think differently and we begin to act differently – our spiritual thermometer begins to rise to new levels. This is pleasing to the Lord and He is glorified through us.

The ideal situation about our spiritual thermometer is that the mercury never drops with the change of seasons or trials in our lives. This is sometimes called spiritual growth. Someone once said, “A true test of a person’s spiritual growth is to see if the recovery time is shortened each time a trial comes into our lives.” How quickly do we realize that God is at work in our life changing us into the image of His Son. As situations impact our lives let’s sharpen our reflexes to confidently lean upon the Lord and to take hold of his promises and experience perfect peace – for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength (Isaiah 26:3-4).

Our LORD continues to give us health and strength to continue on in the harvest. He has given us a renewed vision of the fate that awaits those who reject His Son and have a plan to do it their own way. Jesus said that He is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. This compels us to strive fervently in our personal outward witness and in the work of translation and editing Pidgin materials for the people of Papua New Guinea. We are able to assist our national partners by providing quality teaching aids that will help them in the harvest of lost souls for generations to come – if the Lord tarries!

We have been able to complete and resubmit the first forty lessons in the Roots of Faith Old Testament in the new format. Thank you for your prayers as we labor intently to complete these lessons.

The flow of mail about Medicare supplemental plans has begun to arrive at our mailbox. The government says that 10,000 people turn 65 every day and that number is anticipated to continue at that rate for the next 19 years. Steve turns 65 in October. The government and our mission has changed his retirement age to 66.

Steve has recovered completely from his right hand trigger-thumb surgery. He has bruised his right index finger knuckle. That had been somewhat restrictive with pain, but it is doing much better. Thank you again for your prayers.

Sandy is at the dentist today having the second stage of her work done. Thank you for your prayers for great results from this needed work and for the provision of the funds.

Please pray for four of our family members who are in need of healing physically and emotionally:

One with Chronic kidney failure; One with cirrhosis of the liver; An aunt who had a partial hip replacement due to a fall, a broken femur, and also has suffered a stroke; Last, for a cousin who informed us that his son-in-law committed suicide.

Listening for the trump and praying,

Steve and Sandy Aholt
