Dear Ones,
This has been quite the year, not only for us, but for many of you living up North with one major winter storm after another!!!Crazy, even here in Florida, 50 degrees here seems cold, but nothing like the sub-freezing temperatures we have heard about. We have seen some beautiful winter photos on Face Book, and that is where Charlie says he wants to see snow – in PHOTOS!!!! We keep trusting the Lord to protect each of you and encourage you day by day!!
Sometimes we think we have a quiet week ahead, BUT then that changes as Charlie is needed to help cover where we live at the reception desk up at our Assisted Living Building. He is also helping as a Notary Public as folk need papers notarized. Charlie is involved in teaching Sunday School so is on a roster. When we would be home on furlough he got to preach a lot, but recently has been called upon to preach from time to time which he also loves to do. Our Chaplain recently had surgery, so Charlie is helping some with those responsibilities. We are thankful for strength to be able to reach out to those He brings on our daily path.
The re-siding of our duplex is now finished, and our dining room is getting back to normal. For a long time, it was full of things we had to remove out of our storage closet on our back porch. Termites had done a lot of damage to that back wall which, in turn, meant inside damage which has been repaired and repainted.
Doctor appointments continue, but our health is improving for which we are thankful. The side affects from my being on Anastrozole for a total of five years is not nice, but I am learning to cope with it. My friend Teresa, who has stage 4 cancer, is encouraged as her tumor markers have been lowering because of prayers and the extremely strong chemo she is now on. The side-affect she is having are not nice at all, but how thankful we are that is it helping her some. Both of us appreciate your continued prayers!
How thankful we are for your love, prayers, and encouragements as, together, we journey with Him!!
HOW THANKFUL WE ARE FOR CALVARY,
Charlie & Cherrie

Lots going on in so many lives these days, especially as one gets older! It is almost 2 ½ years since I started my cancer journey. It is one that we would not choose to do again, BUT we would not have wanted to miss all the things our Lord has taught us, and strengthened us as a family, and all the folk the Lord has brought into our lives throughout this time. Un-numerable folk have stood with us throughout this time by their love, care, prayers, meals, and gifts. How thankful we are for each and every one of you!
I have a list of over 20 people who have or have had cancer, or other life threatening illnesses to whom our hearts and prayers go out to.
You all know I love music and today I was listening to this song which blessed my heart. May your hearts be encouraged ALSO!!
SHELTERED IN THE ARMS OF GOD
– Words and Music by Dottie Rambo
I feel the touch of hands so kind and tender. They’re leading me in paths that I must trod. I have no fear when Jesus walks beside me, For I’m sheltered in the arms of God.
Chorus: So let the storms rage high, the dark clouds rise, They won’t worry me, For I’m sheltered safe within the arms of God. He walks with me and naught of earth shall harm me, For I’m sheltered in the arms of God.
Soon I shall hear the call from heaven’s portals, “Come home, my child, it’s the last mile you must trod.” I’ll fall asleep and wake in God’s new heaven, Sheltered safe within the arms of God.
Chorus: So let the storms rage high, the dark clouds rise, They won’t worry me, For I’m sheltered safe within the arms of God. He walks with me and naught of earth shall harm me, For I’m sheltered in the arms of God.
