Dear Team Members, February 5th, 2018
Lots going on this past month as there were times we faced 32 degree weather, which we are not used to!!! Some of you have faced below freezing weather, pipes freezing, and lots of snow!! Even in Australia there has been unusual weather – really hot – then cooling down and having golf ball size hail!!
LOTS TO PRAY ABOUT:
My brother-in-law Phil fell the last week of January on ice and has multiple fractures in the ribs in his back. He ended up in ICU as the lining of one lung got cut and caused bleeding. The doctor told him it was a miracle he was alive!!! We would appreciate your PRAYERS for Phil to heal well!!
Thank you all so much for praying for my friend Teresa Holmgren, who has stage four cancer. The last two months she has been on a new cancer treatment and her tumor markers, which have been really high, have come down 330 points!! They are still higher than she would like, but her heart is encouraged. She is soooo thankful for your continued PRAYERS!
My recent blood tests, done through my oncologist, are continuing to do good. My hemoglobin is doing better, and my tumor marker is between 14-15, which is good I am still having back pain which my surgeon believes is caused by inflammation from having back surgery last August. I have started a different medication for that and we trust that will help. Thank you so much for your PRAYERS!!
The last four weeks, a number of our volunteers have been working on residing the duplex we live in. They found termite damage, so it has taken longer to do the work. They have finished the siding, repairs, and painting the siding has started. How thankful we are for all the needed work that our staff and volunteers do here at our NTM Retirement Center. That includes both husbands and wives We know they would all appreciate your PRAYERS!
This past year a number of our retirees have Graduated to Heaven to be with their Lord, Who they loved so much. What confidence there is knowing that when our faith is in Jesus Christ as our Savior He says, in the book of John chapter 3 and verses 15 & 16 “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Plus in 2 Corinthians chapter 5 and verse 8 “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” WHAT A HOPE WE HAVE!!
We are so thankful for you!! We know this winter has been and still is a rough one health wise for so many. We PRAY for you and trust our Father to Strengthen and Encourage you Moment by Moment. He uses you in our lives, and we trust Him to BLESS you also!
Lovingly,
Charlie & Cherrie
Cherrie’s Musing Tuesday January 9th, 2018
My Musings are not usually funny, but thought I would share the following which is like a dose of medicine!
Maybe you will not laugh, BUT I did and still think it is funny: Tuesday a maintenance man here came to fix our toilet. While working on it he thought he saw a frog and tried to catch it, but it disappeared. At 10PM Charlie and I head off to bed. Charlie dons his sleep apnea mask and we both settle down for a good night’s sleep. A few moments later I see something on my right arm about the size of a fifty-cent piece that was dark, and I thought it was the frog! I slowly move, and it jumps off!! I frantically tell Charlie “Don’t move! Don’t move!” as I get out of bed and click the light on. No frog, and my eyes search and then I see a lizard on the head board of the bed. I grab a wash cloth and try to catch it and it jumps down into the bed, so I quickly pull down the blankets and sheet to see where in the bed it went, all the time telling Charlie “Don’t move. Don’t move!” and of course he looks like a Martian with his mask on!!! No lizard to be found, but then I see it on the back of Charlie’s t-shirt, so I try and catch it and it jumps off his back across the room to the book case!! I grabbed something heavy and finally caught it thinking I had killed it. I grabbed some tissues and scooped up the lizard, thinking it was dead and threw it in the toilet only to see the lizard was very much alive, so I quickly flushed the toilet and it disappeared!!!! I made sure it was gone by flushing the toilet again I finally settled down, trusting the frog was not around, nor any more lizards! I was also thinking about our daughter Esther, and how she freaked out the first time she saw a lizard, when they visited us a few years ago. I was laughing, BUT I do not think Esther thinks this story is funny!!! Until next time!!!! Esther said “It is funny, but she would have let the Gecko free outside!” At 10:15 PM I did not even think of that – JUST GOT RID OF IT!!!!!
