Dear Praying Friends,

We are so thankful for the important part that each one of you has in our life. God knew exactly what He was doing when He joined us together in ministry. We pray daily that each one of us would rely more fully on the LORD – for without Him, we can do nothing.

Thank you for praying for the German man that I met on the airplane, and I had planned to follow-up on. It is in God’s hands as I have not been able to contact him. Some plant, some water, but it is God who gives the increase.

The Roots of Faith material is still a work in progress. Thank you for your prayers as we diligently continue in this process of providing discipleship material in the language of the people of Papua New Guinea.

Thank you for praying and for the honor and the glory that the Lord received through the Summer Vacation Bible School program. It is amazing how God just requires us to be faithful. He blesses our efforts and the result is Him being glorified. Hundreds of children came with many decisions made. We planned and prepared, along with some great experienced helpers, the menu, purchase of food items, preparing, and serving “snack time” each day.

Please pray for healing for Steve after his out-patient-surgery tomorrow (Wednesday) morning. He has been battling trigger finger on both of his ring fingers for nearly two years. The less invasive plan with steroid shots gave him some short-term relief. However, the symptoms have once again returned. The left hand repair will take place first, as there is much more pain in that hand, at this time. We have agreed to have the right hand scheduled to be repaired on October 11th, our 42nd Wedding Anniversary.

We both had good check-ups with our doctors. Steve has no new signs of melanoma and Sandy’s eye pressures indicate that her glaucoma is remaining stable. Praise the Lord!

We rejoice in hearing reports, from friends in Texas and Florida, that they are safe with minimum damage. Nahum the prophet reminds us in 1:3-4a that the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. He can rebuke the sea, and make it dry. However, He chose not to do that this time.

Family news: Aaron, Stephanie, Coralee and Zane have made the transition to a new home location in Columbus, Ohio. New schools, riding the bus, and providing in ways above all that we could ask or think. God is good all the time. All the time God is good. Please continue to pray for Aaron’s dad as he is recovering from the adverse effects of medication that made his kidneys stop working.

This Thanksgiving marks the 50th Anniversary of ABWE in Papua New Guinea. All of us former missionaries, received invitations to return for this time. The expense of travel will prohibit us from attending this graduation and anniversary celebration.

Listening for the trump and praying,

Steve and Sandy Aholt
