Dear Family and Friends,
50 years ago today, I walked down the aisle to wed my best friend and sweetheart. It has been a day full of sweet memories as I have reminisced and thought back over the years Doug and I had together, the joy and privilege of serving the Lord together in Papua New Guinea, for 33 of those years, then 6 years in Cairns. God is GOOD….
Rachel called early this morning, and renamed our Golden anniversary, to Family anniversary… It has been a wonderful week, full of activity and memories … and as I thought back through the week leading up to our wedding, and the years we had together, I just praise the Lord that although I walk a little slower (I can still walk 4 kms most weekday mornings), I am thankful to have a mind to think back to enjoy the GREAT memories we built together.
Thank you for your friendship, prayers and support over those years.
A verse we had engraved on our wedding rings.. Romans 12.12 “Joyful in HOPE, Patient in affliction and Faithful in prayer.”
A verse with which God challenged and encouraged us when we first went to the Sepik. Hebrews 12:5(b) (Wuest translation) I will not, I will not cease to sustain and uphold you. I will not, I will not, I will not let you down. So that, being of good courage, we are saying, The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. …..”
May you be blessed and encouraged today.
Love in Him, Bev
