Thank you so much for your love and prayers and gifts! We are deeply grateful for your part in reaching the Hewa people with the love of Jesus. Thank you!
Jan 29 we will board an airplane to fly back to Papua New Guinea!!! We enjoyed our six month whirlwind home assignment and loved every minute with our family and friends. We were very grateful to attend Micah’s Army medic graduation and Mikayla’s college graduation, sandwiched between my parent’s (Ed and Mary Kopf) 50th anniversary celebration in Idaho and Susan’s parent’s (Charles and Mary King) 50th anniversary celebration in Florida (Would you believe we put more than 21,000 miles on our little car in just 6 months!). We are blessed by our Godly heritage and hope we can also be faithful to pass on such faith, love and perseverance to the next generation.
As we return to Hewa, we ask for your prayers more than ever before. Pray for health and safety for us and the Hewa believers, and pray pure faith in Jesus will spread all over the surrounding mountains. Also please remember to pray for Micah and Mikayla as they go on with their lives while we are far away.
Check out our new blog at blogs.ntm.org/jonathan-kopf . We hope to be able to post new stories to this site from our remote location in the tribe. Right now you may go to that site to read how the patriarch of our Hewa village made a radical decision to cut ties with his ancestral practices. Many stories are also available in the left-hand column under Hewa Tribe on this page.
Thank you for your love and prayers and gifts! We deeply appreciate you!
